Apply for a job? Do you really need all the skills? ...Not really!

If you're a recent post-secondary graduate, there's a good chance you've taken several courses that you think will help you prepare for your first job. Unfortunately, most of what you need to be successful at your job involves skills that you have never taken a course to learn. And that can complicate the application process.
When looking at the qualifications for entry-level jobs, many of the items on the list may be things you haven't yet come across. Even when your new job involves technical skills covered in your courses, your future employer will likely use tools that you have never seen before and rely on processes beyond what you have studied.
"However, just because you don't have all the qualifications,
you should not NOT apply for the job."
But impostor syndrome is usually a joke. You can't see other people's thoughts, so you can assume that they have a higher degree of confidence in their abilities than they probably do. Because of this, you don't recognize how many other people have had to learn important new skills on the job as well, and so you avoid positions that you don't feel qualified for.
